How to tell it
A subshrub with a woody base, much branched, to a metre. Fleshy leaves divided into broad rounded segments, pale green or bluish. Heads three to five centimetres, with white rays and a yellow disc, solitary at the end of long stalks. Range: endemic to Madeira.
What it is confused with
No dangerous lookalikes known in the Iberian Peninsula.
What it is for
No use. It is the origin of many of the garden marguerites sold in Europe, which descend from crosses of Macaronesian Argyranthemum.
