How to tell it
A small branched plant with brittle fleshy stems, covered in short soft hairs. Spoon-shaped fleshy stalked leaves, grouped without forming a closed rosette, unlike the larger aeoniums. Yellow flowers with seven to ten narrow petals in a star. Range: endemic to Madeira.

Madeira aeonium
Aeonium glutinosum
The large aeonium makes tight rosettes of stalkless leaves and is sticky; this is small, hairy and soft, with spoon leaves each on its own stalk. Neither is harmful.
